The Design in the Book

Updated: Jul 16, 2024

While designing this book, my primary goal was to ensure the design complemented the content rather than overshadowing it. It was content-first and the design route we chose kept it that way.

I wanted this book to feel more personal and 'in the now'. To achieve this, we chose a handwriting style, giving it the feel of a letter from the author to the reader. We wanted the book to feel like a personal journal—organic, raw, and grounded in the present moment.

Other elements like the snake pattern in the introduction pages, the choice of black for the cover, the hole in the cover, were additional elements to visually bring out the essence and theme of the book.

I hope you enjoy your journey with this book!
